Grooming
Scottish Terriers benefit from professional grooming about once every three months. Apart from that, brushing several times a week is important, paying particular care to the hair around the face.
History
Closely related to the West Highland White Terrier, the Scottish Terrier originated in the 1850s in.....Scotland! They were developed primarily to catch small vermin around farmhouses, and also as a great little companion!
Positives
Scottish Terriers are a smart, inquisitive terrier indeed. Although they are a terrier, they are happy to be around and in the house much of the time, and have minimal exercise requirements.
Negatives
Scottish Terriers can be headstrong, and must be trained from an early age. They are not overly tolerant of being annoyed by children, so need to be watched around youngsters.
