Colour
The colour of the Weimaraner is generally a shade of brown/grey, and a darker strip down their spine is not uncommon.
Grooming
Weimaraners have a very short and low maintenance coat, so the occasional brushing is all that is required.
History
The exact history of the Weimaraner is unknown, although it does date back at least as far as the 1600s in it's native Weimar region of Germany. It was initially developed as a hunting dog for a rang of large and small game.
Positives
The Weimaraner is good at a range of functions, including household companion, hunting buddy and watch dog. They socialise well with a range of age groups.
Negatives
The Weimaraner can try to be dominant around other dogs, and has an independent streak. They need to be well trained at an early age, and only households prepared to do this should buy one.
