Colour
The Whippet comes in
a wide range of colours, primarily of the darker range. They can be white,
however most are black, brindle, brown or fawn.
Grooming
The coat of the
Whippet is quite soft, as is their skin. Brushing once a week with a soft
brush is therefore optimal for their coats.
History
The Whippet was
developed as a racing dog in England in the 1800s. He was also developed
to hunt small game, catching them quickly and despatching them efficiently
for it's master.
Positives
Whippets are a
reserved and quiet dog most of the time. They will fit in with most
households, and are an enjoyable, loving companion.
Negatives
There are few
negatives to mention about the Whippet. They are often called the "lazy
man's dog" for their lack of daily exercise requirements!
