Available now male and female Maremma Pup - no papers. All pups are Vet Checked, Vaccinated x 2 and Wormed as well as Micro-chipped. Registered Breeder Number : DACO128058Each pup will also come with a letter from our Vet granting an exemption from de-sexing until he or she is fully grown – 2 years. The research supports the fact that Large/Giant Breed Dogs can suffer from Growth Plate damage causing pain, lameness and arthritis in later life if they are de-sexed too early (de-sexing removes the organs that produce hormones integral to the way bones grow, and that also impact other organs and bodily functions).Having said the above, these pups are not for breeding, and owners will enter into an agreement with us, the Registered Breeder, agreeing to have their Maremma de-sexed at between 18 months and 2 years of age. Owners are also bound by the laws of the state in which you live, but the Exemption will cover you Australia Wide..These dogs are working dogs that act as Guardians and Protectors of other animals and livestock, as well as their people. They need lots of room and can be difficult to contain, but are intelligent and good to train. They have great personalities and very strong instincts to follow their breed. These pups will need a suitable environment, and it is important that new owners do their own research before taking on a Maremma for life. This is the same breed as the dog in Oddball, the movie about how this breed saved a colony of penguins on a Victorian Island. We are located at Mount Templeton, an hour north of Adelaide. Interstate travel can be arranged at cost. The price per pup is $800 with a $200 deposit requested at time of choosing your pup.
